What is the McHenry County Cooperative for Employment Education?McHenry County Cooperative for Employment Education (MCCEE) is one of 60 Education for Employment (EFE) Systems established by the Illinois State Board of Education. We administer and coordinate secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE). Illinois School districts must belong to an EFE System to access CTE funding. The major responsibility of an EFE System is to provide both staff and curriculum development for member schools. Our Joint Agreement includes 13 High Schools and McHenry County College. Each school offers State of Illinois approved career related program sequences. MCCEE’s OrganizationThe MCCEE’s governing board is called the Board of Control. It is comprised of the superintendents of member districts or their designee, The Superintendent of the county’s Regional Office of Education and the President of McHenry Community College. Day-to-day issues are handled by Joel Green, the Director of MCCEE. The MCCEE office is physically located at the office of the McHenry County Regional Office of Education, Room 207 of the county administrative building. MCCEE, MCC, Tech Prep, and the Workforce Investment Board and McHenry County Economic Development Corporation work closely together to best serve this region by jointly providing staff development opportunities and funding activities. Currently, the MCCEE Director serves as liaison and committee member with the ETC Partnership Board of Directors, the McHenry County Workforce Investment Board, and the WIA Youth Council of McHenry County.
